If the foregoing has awakened the slumbering realization within us, that the figure of John-the-Baptist in the gospels is not the one-sided description of the appearance of a man, but also not an allegorical depiction of an abstract occurrence, but rather the parabolic imaging of the always essentially Occurring, that manifests itself in people and relationships that appear, as much as in the inner life of an individual who has matured to that point, then we have come closer to the Mystery and the experience of it, then “the Angel” is visible to the eyes of our soul, then it depends on our response to the further effect of that, if our “I” of tomorrow will still be called Zachariah, or rather John, and we will recognize it and represent it as such for the world.
